Vacancy Announcement: USAID PREVENT TB - Graphic & Motion Design Consultant

 Profile of PREVENT TB Project

 

Indonesian TB program has been facing the continued challenges in response to TB. One of the

issues are the low coverage of TB prevention treatment (TPT) – 2%) that is far from achieving the national target of 68% in 2030.

 

USAID is supporting the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia to develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies that leads to behavioral changes that pave the way to increase of TPT enrolment among those who are vulnerable and at risk for TB. It is very important to identify various target audiences, especially among the communicators and influencers, that include health workers / workers, professional associations of related health service providers, TB and HIV counsellors, community/religion leaders, and others to mobilize eligible people to come to health services and start the TPT program.

 

USAID Prevent TB provide support to the government of the Republic of Indonesia via the Ministry of Health in developing and practice the national strategic communication for TPT program implemented at the national and sub-national levels in 6 provinces (North Sumatra, Jakarta, Banten, West Java, East Java and South Sulawesi). This grant will be managed by Yayasan Project HOPE (YPH) in partnership with Lentera Kesehatan Nusantara, Wahana Visi Indonesia, and the Jaringan Indonesia Positif , as well as technical support from Project HOPE International.

 

To support the activities, USAID Prevent TB seeks consultants to develop impactful communication materials necessary for the activities.

 

Purpose of Position

 

The consultant is required to work for USAID Prevent TB. The consultant is expected to suggest and execute a design concept that incorporates functionality and aesthetics. Under the supervision of the Senior Health Communication Specialist and MERL Advisor, and USAID Prevent TB Chief of Party, the consultant will work with the team to develop impactful communication materials necessary for the activities.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  1.  Consult with communication team of USAID Prevent TB to design the communication products.
  2.  Provide suggestions on the best format and materials for communications products.
  3.  Ensure that the development of design complies with the branding regulations of USAID, MOH, YPH, and partners.
  4.  Provide any other support for communication purposes, as needed.
  5.  The consultant is expected to work in close consultation with the Senior Health Communication Specialist.
  6. A series of meetings (online and offline) with USAID Prevent TB will be necessary to agree on deliverables.
  7. Copyright and ownership - All materials produced, and other intellectual property will be solely owned by USAID Prevent TB. Any material provided to the consultant will remain the property of USAID Prevent TB.

 Deliverables

 

Visual and aesthetics design for data visualizations, infographics, tables, graphs, and figures, including, but not limited to:

  1.  One set of two pagers USAID Prevent TB Profile
  2.  Thirteen infographics
  3.  Five social media templates (animated dan static)
  4.  Graphic design/ layout for Prevent TB technical handbooks.
  5. Provide any other designs for communication materials, as needed.

 Qualifications and Experience 

  1.  Ability to use various design software particularly the Adobe Suite including InDesign,
  2. Photoshop and Illustrator. Experience in Adobe After Effects is preferred. 
  3. Clear and mature style of design, demonstrating an understanding of the communication requirements of USAID and Yayasan Project Hope
  4. Proven Experience working with development actors, CSOs, NGOs, or governments, on printed and digital media production on similar engagements.
  5.  Of necessity are creativity, originality, fluency of Ideas, information ordering and problem sensitivity.
  6. Must have an eye for details.
  7. Demonstrable ability to work under a tight schedule and deliver timely and quality materials.
  8. Flexible in revision and accommodating inputs desirable
  9. Experience in developing campaign identity and supporting materials
