 Yayasan Ekosistim Nusantara Berkelanjutan is a non-profit organization that aims to enhance various local initiatives of Tanah Papua at national and international levels to provide support for sustainable management of natural resources in Indonesia. The EcoNusa Foundation was established on July 21, 2017 in Jakarta. EcoNusa encourages the development of the capacity of civil society organizations to conduct advocacy, campaigns, communication, stakeholder engagement, and dialogue among stakeholders to meet the sustainable management of natural resources and promote transparency, conservation, and equality values. To achieve its mission, EcoNusa carries out several programs including Local Community Resilience, Policy Advocacy, Eastern Indonesia Communication Center, and Local Economic Development.

PURPOSE OF JOB

The Community Organizer is part of the Natural Resource Management unit (PSDA) at the Econusa Foundation which will work with the community to manage natural resources that have the potential to be developed. In carrying out their duties, this Community Organizer (CO) stationed in Kaimana, West Papua will have the functions, main tasks and authority to achieve the goals of the PSDA program run by Econusa.

In general, the functions of a Community Organizer include: planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating, as well as reporting on all activities/programs within their scope of work, authority and responsibility.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

1.      Prepare activity plans and budgets related to natural resource potential management and capacity building.

2.      Create an Activity Terms of Reference (ToR) for each activity plan to be carried out.

3.      Carry out assistance in working areas and coordinate with village heads, traditional heads and other parties who have a strategic role in the area to ensure there is support from the village for the implementation of activities in the assisted areas.

4.      Facilitate meetings with communities or people who have natural resource management initiatives and map out the needs to improve the quality of potential natural resources.

5.      Facilitating the need to increase the capacity of village officials and local communities.

6.      Monitoring the development of natural resource management initiatives that are assisted intensively and formulating lessons learned.

7.      Make narrative and financial reports for each activity carried out and make quality monthly work reports according to Econusa standards.

8.      Carrying out other tasks given by the supervisor/direct superior related to developing the potential of natural resource management.

9.      Attend coordination meetings with the PSDA team and other meetings organized by Econusa.

 

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCES

·        Have a minimum of 2 (two) years of work experience in social forestry, economic empowerment, customary rights and natural resource management.

·        Have a basic understanding of the green economy concept.

·        Experience in community organizing and understanding the community context in Papua.

·        Have the ability to document narrative and financial reporting including reporting for monitoring and evaluation.

·        Able to operate MS-Office software (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc).

·        Teamwork and discipline towards set targets.

·        Having skills in activities and budget planning.

·        Have good interpersonal and time management

·        Preferably from Papua.

 

WORKING RELATIONSHIP

Internal               : Close coordination with Econusa staff

External              : Close coordination with external (government, partners, NGOs, etc.)
