Yayasan Tambuhak Sinta (YTS), a Kalimantan-based foundation head-quartered in Palangka Raya, is striving to improve the quality of governance and well-being in areas affected by mineral development activities, and is working closely with communities, local government and extractive companies to achieve this objective.
Currently we are looking for an experienced Program Officer from the development sector, who has the capability of assisting with implementing project activities in North Barito Regency, Central Kalimantan.
Duties and Responsibilities:
In close coordination with the Artisanal Small-scale Gold Miners (ASGM) Program Coordinator:
ü Organise and facilitate project activities in the district and village;
ü Support advocacy needs with the district and village management groups;
ü Liaise and coordinate with local authorities and community leaders
ü Provide monthly field reports;
ü Monitor and evaluate field processes and results of advocacy;
ü Document and report on all activities, events, processes and results;
ü Manage and report on all financial transactions on a monthly basis.
Experience and Requirements:
ü At least 5 years previous experience in community empowerment and village planning and budgeting;
ü Good verbal and written communication skills; able to communicate well with a wide range of individuals and personalities;
ü Home base in or around Muara Teweh;
ü Good management, coordination, and facilitation skills;
ü Fluent in spoken and written Bahasa Indonesia, Dayak, and English (prefer);
ü Work experience in multicultural settings;
ü Good computer skills – word processing, spreadsheet, internet;
ü University degree in relevant subject;
ü Able to travel and work in remote areas.
