BINTARI is a national non-governmental organization engaged in environmental protection and sustainable development. Established in 1986, BINTARI strives to be an outstanding partner for transformation toward resilient and sustainable societies by collaborating with various development actors, including the government, community, private sector, and international organizations. The society transformation is achieved through waste & circularity, climate change, and disaster management programs.
In the waste & circularity programs, BINTARI currently manages several pilot projects and consultancy services to reduce & recyle solid waste as well as to improve solid waste management to prevent marine debris leakages. To anticipate its growth and strengthen the team, BINTARI requires a young, dynamic, and talented Waste Management Specialist to be placed in Semarang City, with the following requirements.
Roles & Responsibilities
• Communicate and coordinate with field/community facilitators in collecting data and information on the municipal waste management;
• Analyze current waste management problems from various perspectives, especially the technical management and funding;
• Explore innovations in the technical implementation and funding of waste management with a cross-background team;
• Transfer the waste management innovations to the field/community facilitators, including preparing training materials and learning instruments;
• Monitor and evaluate waste management interventions during and after the implementation;
• Prepare program or project progress reports in English and Indonesian with other teams;
• Perform other duties and tasks at the request of the project leader
Expected Qualification & Experiences
• Hold a master degree in environmental engineering, environmental management, circular economy, public health, or other similar backgrounds or bachelor degree with advance waste management training will be considered;
• At least 5 years of working experience, of which 3+ years expertise in the technical field of waste management, circular economy, and policy development. Experiences in international working experiences will be an advantage;
• Familiar with conducting research and consultancy services in the area of waste management and circularity;
• Good analytical skills as well as excellent organisational skills; efficiency, accuracy, and high-quality delivery of all work-related output; results and performance orientation;
• High work ethics, reliability and self-motivation, proactivity, and ability to handle multiple simultaneous assignments with competing priorities under the condition of tight time schedules and fixed deadlines;
• Ability to work in an intercultural and inclusive environment and team, social competence, organisational skills and resilience;
• Fluent in English speaking and writing.
Remuneration and Facilities
• Salary range between Rp. 5.000.000 – 8.000.000 per month according to qualification, competency, and salary history of the applicant,
• Holiday allowance in accordance with the period of work,
• BPJS Health and Employment, after exceeding the probationary period.
