CONSULTANT FOR CALORIC EXPENDITURE ASSESSMENT

 SurfAid is a non-profit organization which aims to improve the health, wellbeing and self-reliance of people living in isolated regions.  SurfAid is currently implementing a 5-year (2019–2024) Nutrition–Sensitive Agriculture (NSA) program called NUSATANI, in Parado Sub-district, Bima District, NTB Province and Laboya Barat Sub-district, Sumba Barat District, NTT Province. Nutrition–Sensitive Agriculture is an approach that seeks to maximize agriculture’s contribution to positive nutrition outcomes.

 

SurfAid urgently needs a “CONSULTANT FOR CALORIC EXPENDITURE ASSESSMENT” to conduct an assessment in our target communities in Parado and Laboya Barat, analysing and comparing the daily caloric expenditures of men and women as well as the barriers preventing the ideal caloric expenditures, for us to design interventions on more equitable task division within households.

 

Requirement:

·         Minimum bachelor’s degree in Nutritional Science Major, or Nutrition Doctor or Nutritionist or those with more than 5 years of nutrition research/assessment experience.

·         Experience working in isolated islands/rural areas.

·         Understanding of Bima & Sumba context and culture would be a big advantage.

·         Good English (written and verbal).

·         Familiar with participatory approaches.

·         Able to work independently.
