About the opportunity

PERINTIS is a community/economic empowerment pilot demonstration activity in support of the Palembang City Sewerage Project (PSCP). It offers a gender-sensitive, inclusive, and sustainable model to help increase the quality and quantity of household connections through a range of strategies including improving the economic and employment opportunities for disadvantage women, unemployed youth, and people living with a disability through demand driven training. The Communications Liaison Officer will provide leadership and support to the Team Leader, Deputy Team Leader and PERINTIS team members in the development of promotion strategies for the PERINTIS program.


  • Position reports to: PERINTIS Team Leader and Deputy Team leader
  • Location: Palembang, South Sumatera, Indonesia
  • Contract type: Long Term Position (6 months, plus possible extension)


About you

  • A first degree or higher in relevant fields of either public relations, journalism, development studies, or communication studies
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in the public relations and or event management fields for the private sector, government, CBOs/CSOs and or education institutions
  • Demonstrated experience in working with a wide range of groups including CSO/CBOs, and education institutions
  • A strong track record of working with local media outlets and promotion firms in Palembang
  • Demonstrated experience in developing media strategies, including social media, and campaigns for specific issues such as promotion of women and employment and inclusiveness, such as People with a Disability
  • Awareness of DFAT and KIAT Communications Strategy
