Search Indonesia is searching for A Program Manager (PM) for “Building Resilience through Multi-Stakeholder Collaboration to Prevent Violent Extremism in Indonesia” project. The anticipated, 24 months- State Department funded. This project will build Indonesian government and local capacity to address factors related to the spread of violent extremist ideology in Indonesia, with a focus on enhancing local resilience to foreign and domestic religious narratives used to spread violent extremist ideology, promoting alternative positive narratives, and improving national rehabilitation and reintegration (R&R) programs to decrease the risks of returnees to embrace violent extremist ideologies. The project will focus on at-risk communities and vulnerable population groups.


The Program Manager will work closely with the Country Director by leading the implementation of multi-pronged peacebuilding and media projects, hiring, training and mentoring staff to become leading peace-builders, and developing strong collaboration with implementing partners. The position is located in Jakarta but will require some travel to remote regions.


Your contribution:


The roles and responsibilities include:


●      Facilitate the design, implementation and monitoring of evidence-based, high impact interventions relating to conflict transformation, religious freedom and preventing/countering violent extremism in Indonesia.


●      To lead the program team and ensure quality delivery of the program in line with the donor/ partner, expectations, agreement and budgets.


●      Ensure detailed and effective program planning, including developing and executing detailed work plans, and budget projections.


●      In close collaboration with Finance team in accordance with standard operating procedure and donor guidelines and regulations ensure strict financial monitoring and controls of the program.


●      Support conceptualization of new projects and project budgets.


●      Support the consolidation of reporting procedures and lead donor reporting.


●      Develop and maintain excellent relationships with all stakeholders including government, donors, media, local civil society and partners to further Search’s mission in country.


●      Provide capacity building and support to staff and partners.


●      Provide oversight and coordination of partners’ project implementation.


●      Ensure high-caliber program methodology across all areas of work.


●      Contribute to the development of Search’s country strategy in Indonesia and ensure Search’s programs are relevant.

You are…

If meet the following qualifications:


●      Strong familiarity/experience of the conflict transformation, religious freedom and preventing/countering violent extremism (P/CVE) context and key players in Indonesia.


●      3 to 5 years project management experience working with persons from diverse ethnic, gender and religious backgrounds.


●      Demonstrated experience in peacebuilding/conflict resolution.


●      Excellent program/grant management skills.


●      Common grounder – able to build relationships across dividing lines.


●      Outstanding writing, presentation and communication skills.


●      Excellent management, interpersonal, networking and facilitation skills.


●      Natural coach and trainer, able to bring out the best in team players and build a cohesive team.


●      Proactive, detail oriented and highly organized with ability to multi-task.


●      Financial management skills, including budget management.


●      Solution-orientated positive personality.


●      Computer literacy proficiency.


●      Excellent written and spoken English.


●      Advanced Degree in relevant subject.
