Sustainable Finance Analyst (Code: SFA), Full-time, Jakarta

 

Project Description:

 

The Sustainable Energy for Indonesia’s Advancing Resilience (SINAR) Project is a sixty (60) month project funded by the USAID (United States Agency for International Development) and implemented by Tetra Tech ES, from January 4, 2021 through January 3, 2026.

 

The purpose of USAID’s SINAR project is to advance Indonesia’s development goals in expanding reliable and equitable energy services necessary for sustainable development and inclusive economic growth. To achieve this goal, the activity will focus on the following areas: 1) Deployment of advance energy, 2) Performance of energy utilities, 3) Best practices in procurement, and 4) Institutional framework and capacity of energy sector transformation. By achieving this goal, USAID will contribute to Indonesia’s Sustainable Development Goals and 2020-2024 National Midterm Development Plan.

 

Position Background

 

The Sustainable Finance Analyst will be supporting and reporting to Director Energy Procurement & Sustainable Finance and Sustainable Finance Manager. The analyst is expected to have appropriate analytical, modelling and report writing skills. The successful candidate will possess strong knowledge of the sustainable finance subject, including its implementation in Renewable Energy sector in Indonesia. The successful candidate will also be self-motivated with a high-level of initiative and accountability.

 

Position responsibilities:

·        Support activities related to financial analyses ad follows but not limited:

o   Support Sustainable Finance Manager in implementing SINAR support in sustainable finance.  Support including development sustainable finance studies, training and capacity building and managing engagement with stakeholders.

o   Conduct analysis of financial data, developing simple financial forecasting, including cost and revenue analysis, conduct simple investment evaluation

o   Conducting market and policy research and collecting industry data in Renewable Energy sub-sector and Energy Sector.

o   Conducting research of microeconomic and macroeconomic, renewable energy market, renewable energy investments, renewable energy transactions, corporate actions.

·        Support Director Energy Procurement & Finance in producing SINAR project reporting administration.

·        Support Director Energy Procurement & Finance in other area as needed:

 

Required Skills and Qualifications:

·        Bachelor’s degree and have relevant education background: applied finance, accounting, business administration, business law. CFA, CPA and CMA is a plus.

·        5+ years’ experience and/or exposures in: corporate finance, business valuation, transaction support, investment banking.

·        Strong knowledge and/or understanding of excel formulas, functions and macros, financial modeling, analytical and gathering skills, attention to accuracy and detail.

·        Advantageous but not compulsory to have knowledge and/or understanding of renewable energy finance, sustainable finance, climate finance, blended finance.

 

Valued but not required KSA’s:

·        Fluent in Bahasa Indonesia and English (reading, writing, and oral presentation)

·        Proven track record of assistance in feasibility studies, power purchase agreements, construction and commissioning

·        Familiarity with current Indonesian government regulations and incentives in renewable energy, energy efficiency and other advanced energy systems, and utility planning, procurement and operations

·        Existing working relations with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, PLN, project and with developers, banks/financial institutions, GOI, provincial government, and PLN officials, developers, banks/financial institutions, and research and development and industry organizations

·        Familiarity with USAID procedures and practices for quality control, including monitoring
