RIAU PARTNERSHIP COORDINATOR

 

The Riau Partnership Coordinator provides program management support MERA Program Manager in overall management, operation, and coordination, ensuring the smooth implementation of MERA and other YKAN Programs in Bengkalis - Riau in accordance with the standards set by the organization. S/he developing local networks and developing robust coordination with local key stakeholders at the provincial, district, and village levels. S/he helps ensure smooth, program implementation and reporting, including providing solutions to problems. S/he supports the MERA Program Manager in overseeing the development and implementation of different programs and projects in Bengkalis.

 

Duties include:

·      Assist MERA Program Manager in the implementation of the MERA Program in Pekanbaru and Bengkalis, which includes data collection and assisting the implementation of studies (mangrove ecology, social-economic) implementation of mangrove restoration, and implementation of YKAN SIGAP approach and communication programs.

·      Coordinate with the Governments of Bengkalis Regency, villages, sub-districts; and Riau Provincial government for the implementation of the YKAN/MERA program in Bengkalis.

·      Assist the Program Manager for Establishing or strengthening Regional Mangrove Taskforce

·      Coordinate the implementation of the MERA program in Bengkalis, with the MERA Program Manager and members of the MERA team and convey the progress of the MERA program work plan, make monthly reports and work closely with relevant senior/middle managers in dealing with slow progress or other problems, and assist program implementation by assigned team members on time.

·      Assist the MERA Program Manager in carrying out management responsibilities as needed, such as distributing workshop/seminar invitations to stakeholders, compiling speeches, helping to provide key presentation materials for meetings and conferences, conducting research on specific technical issues.

·      Support the MERA Director in staff management, related capacity development needs, and develop strategies to address them in collaboration with HRD.

·      Support stakeholder engagement aspects of other YKAN activities under the guidance of the MERA Director.

 

The Riau Partnership Coordinator is based in Pekanbaru and reports to the MERA Program Manager.

 

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS, social, environmental or business degree and 5 years’ experience in natural resource management, village mentoring or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience negotiating complex agreements. 
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Experience communicating with the public and/or media both in writing and verbally.
  • Experience using applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Web Browsers.
  • Experience with principles of land acquisition.          
  • Experience in training and curriculum design
  • Experience cooperate with NGO, colleges & community groups
  • Experience on institutional/organizational/Forum strengthening
  • Experience strengthening community economic institutions and community economy
