Yayasan WWF Indonesia, an independent national conservation organization, is part of a global network of WWF. Yayasan WWF Indonesia is currently seeking the best candidate for the position of  Green Policy for Forest Commodities Specialist. This position will be based in Jakarta, and report directly to the Forest Partnership Project Leader. 


Purpose of the position:

The WWF-Indonesia forest program has focused on sustainable forest governance and management as a holistic strategy to protect forest cover, carbon stock, ecosystem/habitat, biodiversity, and communities. Working closely with sustainable market and forest management governance. 
WWF - IKEA partnership has been running since 2012 and is currently entering stage 7 under the agreed written partnership. Phase 7 is a continuation and foundation of the previous phase where WWF-Indonesia and IKEA cooperate to promote the expected standard forms towards sustainable forest management and encourage improvements in the supply chain of several commodities that are considered sustainable (green and fair product for producers/suppliers and market).
Green Policy for Forest Commodities Specialist will help in lobbying and convincing some approaches to be adopted by unit management/ government in the process of providing wood products and or commodities originating from forest or non-forest areas. The Green Policy For Forest Commodities Specialist will implement the activity effectively, contextually, and consistently in accordance with the targets, budget allocations, and values of WWF-Indonesia.


Qualifications & Skills:
  • University degree in Forestry, Social Science, Environmental Science, Natural Resources Management, or another relevant subject.
  • Minimum 3 years of working experience in the relevant field, with program implementation and project management experience.
  • Good understanding of green procurement policies and suitability with the context in Indonesia.
  • Ability to write and speak in an organized, clear, and articulate manner for a wide range of audiences including local governments, local private sector and smallholders, local NGOs, local communities, donors, and partners. 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in both English and Bahasa Indonesia.
  • Highly organized and systematic with strong time management skills and the ability to juggle competing priorities and deadlines required.
