Individual Consultant for Copyedit Documents in English and/or Bahasa
NLR Indonesia is a national foundation, member of NLR Alliance. NLR Indonesia's main programs are leprosy control, prevention of disability, inclusive development for persons with disabilities, and cross cutting interventions on reducing stigma and discrimination for people affected by leprosy and persons with disabilities. NLR Indonesia’s approaches are capacity building, awareness raising, lobby and advocacy and piloting innovative approaches and building networks. NLR Indonesia partners with disabled people organizations, civil society organizations, educational institutions, as well as local governments and ministries / government institutions
To support the development of program and project-related materials, especially printed materials, NLR Indonesia requires a communication consultant to do copyediting in English and/or Bahasa to make sure all materials are properly written.
Scope of Work/Key Duties
The Consultant will ensure all materials given are using proper English and/or Bahasa, covering grammar, spelling, punctuation and paragraphing as such that the documents are easliy understood by the targeted audiences.
The Consultant will closely work with the team to discuss the assignment. The Consultant will work for about 12 months from end of January 2022 to end of January 2023 based on needs throughout the years. The Consultant can work remotely, with regular check-in to be carried out offline or online with the team.
Qualifications:
· Education: minimum bachelor’s degree in Letters, Journalism and/or related fields.
· At least 3 years of copyediting experience
· Demonstrate ability in writing or copyediting good quality of popular articles in English and/or Bahasa.
· Ability to improve words, phrases, sentences and paragraphs .
· Ability to remain detailed-oriented and focused when processing large amounts of text
· Willingness to collaborate with a creative team of writers, graphic designers, and others
· Computer skills:
o Intermediate to advanced MS office skills in all basic Microsoft Word programs and publication software.
o Basic IT knowledge is preferable.
Deliverables
1. First copy-edited draft of all publications material in English and/or Bahasa.
2. Final copy-edited draft of publication material in English and/or Bahasa.
