Community Development Specialist

 

The Community Development Specialist is responsible for engaging and supporting communities in natural resource management. They use the full range of participatory methods, tools, SIGAP and processes to meaningfully engage communities in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the program. They provide administrative and project management support and other general assistance to program staff and consultants working towards the achievement of social objectives, conservation, or stewardship goals.

This position reports to Stakeholder Outreach Manager, and will be based in Sanggau, West Kalimantan.

 

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree and 5 years’ experience in conservation practice or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience managing complex or multiple projects, including managing finances and coordinating the work of other professionals and partners.  
  • Supervisory experience, including motivating, leading, setting objectives and managing performance.
  • Experience developing partnerships (partners, community, government).
  • Negotiation skills.
