Yayasan Indonesia Cerah (“CERAH”) is a non-profit organisation established on 11 October 2018. The organisation focuses on the issues of clean energy and the environment. CERAH promotes the narrative of shifting Indonesia’s policy in energy transition as a leader in providing strategic communication to amplify key messages in the narrative of clean energy and its transition in Indonesia, cultivating and enhancing stakeholder engagement and providing recommendations to policymakers.
CERAH has been collaborating with multiple stakeholders and prominent figures, the media, and civil society organisations to educate and raise awareness highlighting issues such as good governance and corruption, climate change and the health impact of energy choices and renewable energy future and how that affects lifestyle and jobs.
To assist the ever-growing team, CERAH is looking for Senior Officer – Climate Impact to assist our Climate Communications Specialist Team, work of the employee will include:
1. Develop a communication strategy to advance the integration of the Air Pollution and other climate impact issues into the emerging Climate Change narrative.
2. Develop and maintain a network with media, partners, experts, ensuring they are prepared to be credible voices with tailored key messages.
3. Develop strategy and manage social media channels with the support of the Digital team.
4. Monitor national news coverage on climate issues to support a rapid-responses media capacity and provide regular information and analysis to a network of partners.
5. Monitor the trends of international media’s interest for Indonesia’s environment, as well as other political, economic, and social issues, and identify opportunities for placement of media stories on climate issues.
6. Developing and executing individualized pitches for high-value media.
7. Creating and executing effective media strategies that have a major impact.
8. Work with the global network to contribute to research as required and to deliver relevant content localized by territory, processing ACT packages by other country desks and producing regional ACT packages for global networks.
9. Based on ongoing strategic, action-oriented analysis of media debates, identify, recruit and train new voices to deploy at key moments in debates.
10. Any other assignment as directed by the Climate Communications Specialist and the Executive Director.
Requirements:
- Detailed understanding of the media landscape and values, and experience with strategic story placement, messaging, etc
- Strong experience in the development and deployment of major communications initiatives across elite, traditional and digital media.
- Strong diplomatic skills and interpersonal relations, ability to quickly build trust with partners and colleagues
- An understanding of campaigning methods and tactics especially in the climate field
- Strong time and priority management, high level of independence and can-do mentality, good team player with a passion for excellence
- High levels of self-motivation, used to working at a high pace in remote settings, as part of international teams and across time-zones
7. Good communication and writing skills.
8. Good command in Bahasa Indonesia and English.
Duration and Fee:
The position is permanent with 3 (three) months of probation. The fee will be based on qualification, competency, and salary history. We will cover BPJS Kesehatan, BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, personal income tax, and private insurance.
