EcoNusa encourages the development of the capacity of civil society organizations to conduct advocacy, campaigns, communication, stakeholder engagement, and dialogue among stakeholders to meet the sustainable management of natural resources and promote transparency, conservation, and equality values. To achieve its mission, EcoNusa carries out several programs including: social movement for healthy ocean, policy advocacy, youth capacity building and awareness, and communication strategist.

PURPOSE OF JOB

This role’s purpose is to support EcoNusa Communication team with the development of the internal and external communications strategy and overseeing and developing content management. This role will source, create and provide communications content that engages with EcoNusa audiences. This role will proactively part of communications team to achieve the active embedding of a dynamic joined-up internal communications culture, associated approaches, mechanisms and messages that will support the delivery of the EcoNusa strategy.

 

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


1.     Internal & External Strategic positioning of EcoNusa Foundation - create and implement communications Strategy:

·        Position EcoNusa as a leading organization by communicating best practice and achievements, to change perceptions of Eastern Indonesia and Marine issues and influence behaviours of key audiences.

·        Map and analyze EcoNusa stakeholders, both internal and external, and strategize relationship-building process.

·        Implement best practice Measurement and Evaluation tools to monitor communications projects and effectiveness of the communications strategy. Continuously improve and get buy into the communications strategy as needed.

 

2.     Manage Content including creation and distribution:

·        Accountable for the overall distribution of content through various channels, including media, website, social media and various internal communication channels.

·        Resource and manage communication content, guidance and review for all collateral and messaging for a mix of internal and external audiences.

·        Manage and ensure quality is retained on platforms for holding EcoNusa content, e.g. casual content library, media library, and any other chosen platform.

 

3.     Team Management:

·        Build a high performing team of communications staff, and make wise use of outsourced consultants as needed.

·        With Communication Team, implement a programme of communication skills training to build capacity in the EcoNusa network.

·        Develop and build capacity so that Network Communicators contribute to the external communications effort, by providing stories and news on relevant and timely development and local and/or regional successes.

 

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCES

 

·        Demonstrated experience of working in an international setting is essential, as is success in communicating complex issues in a persuasive way to a wide variety of audiences at all levels using diverse channels (TV, print, radio, web, etc.)

·        Experience with communications around international policy institutions and for is preferable, as is experience working for a non-profit organisation.

·        Minimum 5 years working experience with Proven track record in successful at least national communications strategies and activities undertaken in a multi-cultural setting.

·        Demonstrable experience and success in working closely with partners, negotiating joint approaches and messages around controversial topics is essential.

·        Experience leading and participating in multi-disciplinary teams and building consensus, optimism and confidence in the face of challenges and pressure while charting new territory for the organization is a must.

·        Familiarity with a wide range of communication tools and approaches, their potential impact and their suitability for an organization like EcoNusa, is also required.

·        Long-term planning and analytical skills, as well as demonstrated ability to multi-task and work effectively to tight deadlines without compromising quality, are necessary

·        Strong interpersonal skills are essential, as are skills in partnership development and the ability to develop relationships with a wide range of audiences.

·        Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal. Fluent English is essential; other languages would be an asset.

WORKING RELATIONSHIP

Internal          : Works under Communication Department and coordinate with others team and units

External          : Coordinates with government, journalist, vendors and other stakeholders.
