We currently have an opening for:
NCS Data Analyst
The NCS Data Analyst will be responsible for database management to support study on peatlands NCS playbook. S/he coordinates closely with Forest Carbon and Climate Specialist (FCCS), Natural Climate Solution and Production Forest (NCSPF) Manager and Tackle Climate Change Global Climate Science from TNC World Office, as well as with the terrestrial senior management team. S/he establishes and maintains partnerships at all levels.
Main accountabilities :
• Designing and maintaining database including geospatial and tabular data systems for Peatlands Natural Climate Solution research project
• Mining and reorganizing data from primary and secondary sources from publications or reports from consultants
• Working knowledge on carbon dynamic and analysis
• Providing quality assurance at various stages of the project in order to validate the analysis
• Preparing appropriate documentation and reports based on relevant dataset
• Providing substantial contributing for analysing and drafting scientific publication
• Experience with data collection and conducting field work
The NCS Data Analyst will be based in Jakarta. S/he will report to Forest Carbon and Climate (FCC) Specialist.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor or Master’s degree in forestry, natural resources management, conservation or another related field of study with 5-10 years of experience in forestry data management, climate change and GHG accounting. Equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
· Has experience on peatlands GHG emissions accounting and record of scientific publication.
· High level experience using database languages such as SQL, R, Python or JavaScript; spreadsheet tools such as Microsoft Excel and data visualization software.
· Experience with GIS data analysis and demonstrated experience using geospatial software such as ArcMap, Google Earth Engine, eCognition, ERDAS, QGIS, or others.
· Experience on geospatial database development and management.
· Experience in data governance, data quality & data modelling.
· Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills.
· Good English on written, spoken, and graphical.
