The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is a German implementing organization which provides services worldwide in the field of international cooperation for sustainable development. GIZ has years involvement in the area of renewable energy in Indonesia.

EnDev Mini Grid Knowledge Sharing Project expands the sharing of experiences and knowledge about mini grid from Indonesia to global audience particularly within EnDev (Energizing Development) framework. The project started in October 2019 and will end in June 2021.

There are three key project components of EnDev Mini Grid Knowledge Sharing Project: component 1 is knowledge sharing and product knowledge development; component 2 is specific support to EnDev country; and component 3 is support to global mini grid community.

Related to component 1, ELREN (Electrification Through Renewable Energy), a joint project implemented by the Indonesian Directorate General for New and Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation (DG- NREEC) and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), aimed to institutionalize off grid knowledge and experiences into different key rural energy access stakeholders in Indonesia. ELREN has produced the Guideline for PV Commissioning Protocol which is widely accepted and integrated into practices by wide range of stakeholders.

The digitalization of PV commissioning procedures is expected to help stakeholders in different parts of the world to be able to conduct commissioning properly. This in the end may ensure better operation of the PV systems (mini grid or on grid) that will benefit the people and make positive impacts in different aspects of life.
